Sage Road!!!

Last Sunday, Landon & I dropped Sage off at her Grandparents and we rode close to 19 miles on the Pinellas Trail. While in Crystal Beach, we went off the trail to check out the neighborhood. As we were riding, we came across Sage Road and Sage Circle in a neighborhood called Sage Oaks. We just had to take a picture of Sage Road in Sage Oaks to show Sage Smith one day!

Sage's story time days at the library & Barnes & Noble!

On Tuesdays, Sage and I go to story time at the library. Sage LOVES her outings to the library since it houses her favorite thing....BOOKS!!! After story time, we sit in the children's section, pick out 3-4 books and read them. Sage really enjoys this and likes picking out her books. Since we like to keep Landon updated on our day, I captured some pictures on my phone of Sage choosing her books for that day.

Here she is choosing the books for our reading..it can be a messy endeavor with books being thrown!

This week we missed our Tuesday visit to the library.  I found a story time at Barnes & Noble so we went to check that out.  It is more suited for older toddlers...2-4 yrs yet we still had fun.  The story was about Clifford the Big Red Dog and Sage enjoyed the story.  At the end, Clifford made an appearance and from afar Sage waved at and clapped for him.  After story time we checked out the table train set...Sage loved all the cars and trains!  Here's a phone picture of Sage with the train..we sent this to Daddy so he could see his girl having fun!

Videos of our little cutie!

Following are some recent videos of Sage doing what she does on a daily basis.  Thought it would be fun to capture video instead of pictures.

The 1st video is Sage ROCKIN' out with her guitar. Check out her fancy fingerwork on the guitar, her dancing and "head banging" at the end.

The 2nd video is Sage walking & strolling her baby!

The 3rd & 4th videos are Sage at the park swinging & playing in the tunnel.

The 5th video is of Sage visiting with Max. Max is very sweet to Sage and lets her poke him in the face, pull his fur, etc. His perching on the end table is a new thing and I think he's doing it so Sage can visit with him and he feels safe. In the video, he does raise his paw a couple of times but his claws are not out. It's just his way of saying hello as he does this to me too.

ENJOY!

Mother's Day! (May 9, 2010)

Sunday, May 9 was my 2nd Mother's Day and it was a wonderful day!  First...Landon offered to "take care of " Sage all weekend, meaning feed/change/bathe her so this was a fantastic gift!  On Mother's Day, I woke up to a dozen red roses and homemade buckwheat pancakes! Sage gave me a smaller Tiffany (blue) key charm to add to my current Tiffany key charm necklace and a very sweet card. Landon gave me a gorgeous Tiffany "My 1st curl" hand-painted ceramic box to hold Sage's 1st curl and also a very special card. These were such thoughtful and wonderful gifts from my family.

For brunch, we met my mom, dad, Uncle David & Aunt Theresa at the Hurricane restaurant on St. Pete Beach. I received a sweet Mother & Daughter figurine from my parents and some wonderful spa/pampering gifts from David & Theresa. After brunch we walked over to the beach and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Sage had such a fun time looking at all the seagulls and characters on the beach. Mother's Day was a very special day and one I really enjoyed!

Our little reading genius!

This morning, Sage was playing in her room and I captured her reading from "The Bear Snores On".  She is really getting into the story!  Enjoy!

Sage & Daddy go swimming! (May 8, 2010)

On Saturday, May 8 Sage started swimming lessons at the YMCA and she did great!  I was not there as Landon is taking her to the class...he said she had so much fun.  Landon said Sage kicked, reached for a frog, jumped into his arms from the wall and (almost) got back up on the edge of the pool all on her own - just one leg could not figure out what to do,   Mari is also in the class so Sage gets to see her BFF every Saturday morning!

Sage's 1st pigtails/ponytails! (May 6, 2010)

Since Sage's hair is growing and curling...I decided to see if I could put some pigtails (or is it ponytails?) in her hair.  She let me do it but after a few minutes, she started pulling out the ribbon barettes.  I was able to capture the pigtails/ponytails on my phone and send the pictures to Landon.  He loved them!  Here are the pictures...the quality is not great since they are from my phone.

Sage's 1st visit to Busch Gardens! (May 2, 2010)

On Sunday, May 2, we went to Busch Gardens with Kristen and Mari.  This was Sage's 1st visit to an amusement park and she seemed to enjoy herself.  We mainly went to check out the new Sesame Street area that was built for and is geared towards younger children.  Sage is still a little young to partake in all of the activities as it is more for 2-5 yr olds.  We did get to ride on 2 rides...Big Bird's hatched egg ride (don't remember the real name) and a merry-go-round.  Sage really liked the big bird ride ~ we sat in a big hatched egg and just went up and around.  She did not like the merry-go-round too much.

We also walked around and looked at some animals and the big highlight of the day was the 3d Sesame Street movie.  Sage had a BALL at the movie as Elmo was on the screen, bubbles came floating out of the ceiling and water misted in certain parts of the film.  This ended our big day - what a great finale!

Sage's Princess Chair! (May 1, 2010)

I was at CVS the other day and spotted the cutest little Disney Princess beach chair.  I got it, thinking it was a little too big for Sage, and thought we would save it for later.  When I got home, we sat her in the chair and she loved it and it is a perfect fit for her!  She does get frustrated as she cannot get out of the chair on her own.  We will need to show her how to slide out until her legs are long enough to get out of the chair.   Here are some pics of Sage in her chair.

Trying to get out....

Sage turns 14 months old! (April 24, 2010)

On Saturday, April 24, Sage turned 14 months old!  My how things have changed in just one month...Sage continues to wave and clap and even says "buh"...which is "bye".   Whenever she hears me saying bye on the phone, she loves to say "buh".  Sage LOVES trees, grass, flowers and just being outdoors.  There are a few trees she can see outside her window and every morning or after her nap, she stands in her crib and points at the window.  She wants us to open the blinds so she can look at "her" trees.  It is one of the highlights of her day when she can see her trees!  Whenever we get out of the car and a tree is near, she says "Ohhhh" and points at the trees.  We can keep her amused and busy with just looking at trees.

Sage LOVES bubbles and we like to go outside and blow bubbles.  Of course, while we are out, she always spots a tree or two, loves to pick grass blades and last time, we spotted some beautiful green dragonflies.  She was so excited about the dragonflies!

Sage loves music and loves to dance.  She is shaking her hips and twists her torso when she hears music.  Sage also loves Elmo and smiles so big when we watch Sesame Street.  Sage is walking a lot more, with our help holding her fingers, and we just know she is going to take off running one day soon.  Sage still loves books more than toys and she loves our library visits every Tuesday.  We go to story-time and then sit and read 3 -4 books.  In the children's section there are gorgeous carousel horses on the bookcases and Sage loves looking at these horses.  Sage is babbling...a lot and sometimes we can figure out what she is trying to tell us....others time not so much!  Sage does seem to be going through a shy phase and is a little cautious of other babies, sometimes she seems a little frightened of them especially if they are walking or bigger than she.  We are sure this is very normal and she will grow out of it.

Sage has transitioned from her bottle to a sippy cup.  This took about 3-4 weeks for her to get the hang of the cup but now she's an old pro.

Sage continues to be a sweet little baby girl....so calm and good-natured.  It is still easy to go on outings with her.  My guess is when she starts walking, she might get a little more antsy.  We are having the time of our lives as our little angel continues to learn new things (almost daily) and grow!
