These are just too cute......

Today, Sage and I met Amy for lunch. Sage garnered a lot of attention...especially her adorable new pink check sandals from "Aunt" Carolyn. The waitress was so excited that she whipped out her phone and took a picture of the sandals! After lunch, Sage and I ran some errands and at one place, she had at least 5 ladies gathered around her ooh'ing and aw'ing at how cute she is, they loved her (new) strawberry bow AND her adorable sandals. Here are the pics. Sage's cute toes in her new pink check sandals... Sage's strawberry bow ~ a real attention grabber...

Sage, the French artiste', goes to Lakeland! (July 28, 2009)

On Tuesday, July 28 Sage and visited "Aunt" Carolyn in Lakeland. We had such a great time and went to lunch at an adorable cafe/deli restaurant. After lunch, we went to a really unique baby/children's shop and had so much fun!!! We bought a very sweet pink tutu that I plan to have Sage's picture taken in at 6 months. We picked up a bathing suit with matching hat for our August beach vacation and some other little goodies. While at the shop, Sage tried on some cute little hats....here are some pics of our little French artiste'.

Sage turns 5 months old!

Today, Sage is 5 months old! Time really does fly...we cannot believe our little doll is almost half-way to being 1 yr old. She is also getting very active and it was nearly impossible to take her picture this month. She was just so excited and playful! Some of the things Sage is doing are: Smiling A LOT! She smiles at us all of the time and at most people who talk to her. Trying her best to crawl. She looks like a little crab trying to scoot across the floor. She seems to think she needs to push off with her head so she usually spins around and ends up in the other direction. She is very determined and is really working on this skill. Rolling on her belly and she can roll back over to her back. She loves to do this anytime she is on the floor or in her crib. Laughing...this one we really love. We try all kinds of faces and sounds to make her laugh. Just today, I heard her laughing from the other room while she was sitting in her swing. I ran in to see why she was laughing and it seems Max, the dog, was coughing and this made her laugh on her own. Soooo precious. Loves music and singing. Any music and singing will make her smile. I discovered while Landon was away this week that Sage needs music to go to sleep. He took his iPod (which we keep in her room to play music every night) and Sage cried the 1st night. She never cries when going to sleep so it dawned on me that she needs the music. Luckily we have a CD player so I improvised and played her lullabies on this. Sitting up with assistance. Her neck and back are very strong and it seems like she will sit up on her own soon. Recognizes her name - she looks at us when we call her name. Staring with amazement at her hands. She seems to just be realizing they are attached to her. Grabbing her toes constantly and placing them in her mouth. Grasping rattles and toys with purpose. She examines them and really enjoys playing. Sage at 5 months...

Daddy...I Want a Pony!

This week, Landon was out of town in Dallas & Houston for business. He always brings us small gifts from his travels. We hope as Sage gets older (and realizes Daddy is leaving), these gifts will ease the pain of him being away. This trip, Landon brought home an adorable pink and purple pony for Sage. She just happened to have a onesie proclaiming "Daddy...I Want a Pony!" so thought I'd take a picture of Sage in her onesie with her new pony. Sage and her pony...

The "Bonehead" (July 23, 2009)

On Thursday evening, we decided to take a family stroll on the trail behind our home. On Thursday evenings, there are a lot of kids practicing football and cheerleading on the field behind our home and adjacent to the trail. As of late, some of the parents have decided to spread out on the trail blocking some of the area. This drives me crazy when I am trying to run on the trail plus they leave behind garbage. When we went for our stroll, the football team was practicing close to the trail and the kids started running towards us on the trail. As the football players got close to us, one of the coaches threw the football at one of the kids and came close to hitting the stroller and me. Well....this was Landon's first encounter with another parent who made him mad and he told the guy that it was a "bonehead" move to throw the ball and he should watch out for us. First...I have not heard "bonehead" in a long time - Landon said he thought it was a very family friendly thing to say - could have been much worse! The guy got very defensive and kind of loud with Landon - he seemed to be mad that Landon called him a "bonehead" in front of people. We said our peace and walked away - through the group of parents spread out on the trail. The moral of this story is we have many days ahead of us dealing with "bonehead" parents and I hope we gracefully handle them. I think there are a lot of "boneheads" when it comes to kids' sports and organized activities! Sage before our encounter with the "Bonehead"...

Sage puts her foot in her mouth....

literally! Over the last week, Sage has taken to a lot of stretching and placing her feet in her mouth. She then proceeds to really chew on her toes. Must be all the prenatal yoga we practiced (minus the chewing on the feet) ~ she's our little yogi! OMMMMM.......

The camera battery was dead....(July 17, 2009)

On Friday, July 17 we met Mike and Becky for dinner. It was Sage's first time meeting them and we had the camera packed up and ready to capture the moment. Well...I neglected to make sure the battery was charged so we were unable to take pics of their first meeting. There will be many more get togethers with Mike and Becky so we'll make sure the camera is ready to go! We had such a nice dinner and Sage received some wonderful gifts. Mike and Becky gave her some new colorful animal friends, a monkey, elephant and lion, and she loves them! She has been playing with them since we took them out of the package. Sage also received a beautiful blue and white polka dot dress that matches her beautiful blue eyes. Cannot wait to see her in the pretty dress!

Sage shows off for Lori! (July 14, 2009)

On Tuesday, July 14 Landon, Sage and I visited our good friend Lori. Sage first met Lori when she was a tiny baby ...just 4-5 wks old. Lori had brought us a wonderful dinner and Sage slept through the entire visit! This time, Sage was very alert, smiley and enjoyed her new surroundings. After having her diaper changed, she showed off her flipping and rolling skills on Lori's comfy ottoman. Lori was very impressed!

Sage goes to Safety Harbor! (July 11, 2009)

On Saturday, July 11 we headed over to Safety Harbor to check out a BOB jogging stroller for Mommy and Sage. We found and ordered the stroller at "A Jogging Stroller" ~ one of the few BOB dealers in the area. They give 20% off to local customers so it was a great deal for us! While we were in Safety Harbor, we had a nice lunch and walked around downtown. We also walked to the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa and surrounding neighborhood. The spa is on Tampa Bay and the view is gorgeous! Even though we got caught in a few rain showers, it was such a wonderful and relaxing afternoon. Sage smiling as we wait out the rain...

Sage meets Steve & Carolyn! (July 10, 2009)

Sage finally met Steve and Carolyn on Friday, July 10!! Steve was the best man at our wedding ~ he and Landon are like brothers. They live in Lakeland so we agreed the Cheesecake Factory in Brandon was a good meeting spot. As always, Sage was very sweet, smiley and quiet during dinner. Sage LOVED them and was so comfortable in Carolyn's arms and Steve made her smile! Sage, Carolyn & Steve...

Sage & Mari's outing! (July 10, 2009)

Since Kristen is returning to work on Monday, we had our last outing on Friday, July 10. We went to Hyde Park Village and Madi, Kristen's 11 yr old daughter, joined us. We will continue to get together yet we'll miss our weekly excursions! Sage and Mari are still becoming acquainted and love holding hands and looking at each other. Sage & Mari holding hands...

Mommy & Sage go to lunch (July 6, 2009)

On Monday, July 6, we met our good friends Kathy and Melissa for lunch. Landon was working from home so we were able to get some rare pictures of Sage & me (rare since I am always taking the pictures).
Sage was such a good girl at lunch and let Kathy and Melissa hold her. I neglected to take a "group photo" and by the time I remembered, Sage was soundly sleeping. There is always next time......

Sage's First 4th of July!

Sage started her 4th of July celebration on Friday, July 3. We met Grandmama and Grandaddy for dinner then back to their house for a visit. Sage proudly wore her "Baby's First 4th" onesie (from Aunt Theresa), new cool jeans and patriotic bow. We had such a fun visit! On Saturday, July 4 we headed to her Great Aunt Irene & Great Uncle Michael's home for a BBQ. Sage's cousins Lisa & Tyler along with Papa Marc and Bis Abuela were all there. At first, she was a little overwhelmed at all the activity and people yet she settled in and had a ball! She was so excited and happy that she never took her afternoon nap(s). She conked out on the way home and even with all the loud neighborhood fireworks, had a good night's sleep after her big holiday. Sage on her blanket at her Grandparents'...
