Sage's 6 month checkup

Today, we visited the pediatrician for Sage's 6 month checkup and shots. She weighs 15 lbs 6 ozs, is 26" long and her head circumference is 17". The doctor said she looks beautiful and is very healthy. Some things Sage is now doing are: Teething ~ she drools, a lot, and is constantly placing her fist in her mouth. Still trying to crawl. She seems to have her back leg movement down and just needs to figure out the arms. Babbling, squealing & talking, a lot! She seems to do this more in the privacy of her home than out in public. Giggling - a lot! We love this as it is the sweetest sound, ever! Notices the puppy and kitty. She loves to watch them walk by when she's in her bouncy seat or really just anywhere. The puppy still ignores her but the kitty seems to really like her. When I am holding her, he will come up to us and gently sniff her and try to get her to pet him. She kind of pets him - more like a bump - and he is very sweet to her and lightly rubs his head against her hand. Trying to sit up and almost doing it on her own! Attracts A LOT of attention wherever she goes! She is such a sweet and smiley girl and everywhere we go people look at and make comments about her. Yesterday, Landon found this out, first hand, when he took her to Publix. He thinks she's a great "chick magnet"! Following are two shots ~ one before her one month doctor's visit and one from today, her six month doctor's visit. It's amazing how much she has grown! March 24, 2009 (we had to hold her little precious head to keep it up for the picture!) August 24, 2009 - her legs barely fit on the ottoman! More pictures from the morning...

"Excuse me....I am unhappy about not being fully dressed!" Finally....happy about being fully accessorized with her headband & bow...such a fashionista!

Sage turns 6 months old!

Today, our sweet baby girl turns 6 months old!! It is really unbelievable how fast time flies when you're having fun. We planned on feeding Sage her first taste of rice cereal in her new highchair. We attempted to do this at lunchtime but she was very tired and probably not feeling too good after her shots. Sooo...the first attempt at real food did not work out for us. We will try again very soon. Before the attempt at feeding, I was able to get some shots to commemorate her 1/2 year/6 mos birthday. Sage was moving around a lot so it took awhile to get these shots. As usual, there are quite a few as it is too hard to choose the best one(s)! Our little flower child...
Oh wait...I need to get in some crunches...As usual, Sage needs to get in one or two flips to her tummy...

Sage's Dinner Date! (August 22, 2009)

On Saturday, August 22 we had a triple date + 1 with Amy, Brent, Melissa and Shawn. We had a great time visiting at Amy and Brent's and then a wonderful dinner at Bonefish. And....we think Sage has found her first boyfriend in Shawn as we could not separate the two of them all evening. Shawn is like the "baby whisperer" and Sage really took to him by giving him her prettiest smiles all night long! I am sure Sage is looking forward to the next time we see Shawn. Sage and her new beau, Shawn... Sage and Melissa (I guess Melissa is OK with Sage & Shawn's relationship!)...

Sage goes to Stroller Class! (August 21, 2009)

Sage and I are going to a new "stroller workout" class on Tuesday and Friday. The class is 1 hour, held at Flatwoods Park and is really intense. We run/power walk, do squats, lunges and strength train with resistance bands. To quote our good friend Megan, it's like Mommy boot camp! So far, Sage really loves being outdoors, working out with Mommy and looking at the other babies/toddlers. Following is a shot of Sage before we left for class last Friday ~ you can tell she's ready to ROLL (or STROLL)!

Sage's giggles

For the past few weeks, Sage has been giggling and squealing like crazy. She laughs at funny faces, funny noises, tickles and even a bright mylar birthday balloon. It is THE cutest thing and we love to make her laugh. Today, while changing her diaper, she was especially giggly so I started tickling her and grabbed the camera. She also moves and kicks like crazy when she giggles. We hope you enjoy Sage's sweet giggles as much as we do. **To play video ~ click arrow on bottom left side of frame**

Sage the Honorary Stager! (August 18, 2009)

On Tuesday, August 19, Sage and I attended our monthly home stagers meeting in St. Petersburg. Sage was a hit with everyone ~ even the patrons at neighboring tables! She did cry when someone held her as she seems to be going through a phase where she is afraid of "strangers". At least her cry is pretty soft and quiet and not too disruptive. We missed a few members - Suzanne, Megan and Lila - hope to see them next month. After lunch, we stopped by Bis Abuela's for a visit. Sage showed off her squealing and laughing for Bis Abuela! Sage & Mommy... Sage, Mommy, Julie, Lois and Judy...

Uncle David's Birthday! (August 15, 2009)

On Saturday, August 15 we had a family get together for Uncle David's birthday. We went to Outback for dinner and then back to Grandmama and Grandaddy's for ice cream cake. Sage was a very good girl at dinner.....no screaming like a lot of the babies around us (there were quite a few little ones out that night!). She even tasted a little of the whipped cream from the birthday ice cream at Outback. She was very unsure what to do with the whipped cream so it just got all over her mouth and face. Sage had a lot of fun visiting with her family and celebrating Uncle David's birthday. Sage and whipped cream..."What is this stuff?!?"

Sage and BOB! (August 8 & 9, 2009)

Well....we finally received our BOB jogging stroller and took it out for a spin over the weekend. On Saturday, we took it out on a local trail and Sage seemed to really like her new ride! On Sunday morning, Landon left for a business trip, so Sage and I decided to get out with BOB and enjoy the HEAT! Whew - it is SO hot right now. After our run/walk on Sunday, we rested on a bench at the entrance to the trail. Sage made some new friends in an 11 mos old girl named Cadence and a cute little puppy named Andy. They both loved looking at Sage and she at them. Happy baby in her new ride...
"Oh yeah....I can really get my legs up in this thing"...
YUMMY TOES!

Sage loves Strawberry Shortcake....

the character, that is. On Thursday, Aug 6 we visited Grandmama and Grandaddy. Grandmama had some gifts for Sage, including a soft cover Strawberry Shortcake book. Sage loves to "read" and hold books and is especially attached to her new Strawberry Shortcake book! We can give it to her, open to a page, and she just becomes very engrossed in looking at the bright pictures and words. Landon found her in her swing sort of turning the pages...it was so cute! Of course, we think she is really soaking in the fact that she's reading a book and is a GENIUS! Here are some shots of Sage enjoying her Strawberry Shortcake book.
Sage fell asleep after a bath and reading her new book...

Sage goes shopping at IKEA! (August 7, 2009)

Sage and I met Auntie Laena at the new IKEA on Friday, Aug 7 for some shopping. This place is amazing....so many great deals and stylish finds! As we were looking around the kids' area, we came across a big bin full of stuffed animals. I pulled out a St. Bernard puppy and Sage just started giggling really hard at him. We played with him for awhile and she just kept laughing and smiling at him. Sooo....we ended up taking him home and naming him "Bernie". She loves him and smiles at him every time she sees him. Sage eagerly awaits Auntie Laena's arrival... Sage and Mommy at the end of our day at IKEA... Sage and Bernie!

Sage's first time in a high chair! (August 4, 2009)

Landon, Sage and I visited Bis Abuela on Tuesday, Aug 4. Bis Abuela had some gifts for Sage...a beautiful blue summer dress with popsicles and ice cream cones...will look stunning with Sage's blue eyes and a cute "bug" teething ring. Sage loves the teething ring and has it in her mouth at all times. She also loved opening the gifts and playing with the wrapping paper ~ it was all we could do to take it away from her. Bis Abuela fixed a delicious lunch and we decided to let Sage sit with us at the table. Bis Abuela has a cute highchair for Sage. We buckled Sage in and placed some towels behind her back to steady her in the chair. Well....she had a ball sitting at the table with the grownups! She "talked" the entire lunch and was banging her new bug toy on the tray. She showed off with some singing for Bis Abuela and then did her usual rolling tricks. It was such a fun day for everyone! Sage, Bis Abuela & the wrapping paper... Sage, Mommy & Bis Abuela (and the wrapping paper)...Sage showing off for Bis Abuela...
Sage SO excited with her first time in a highchair...
