Sage's 9 month checkup (December 4, 2009)

On Friday, December 4 Sage had her 9 month checkup and all is well! Dr. Yee was happy to see 3 teeth, hear Sage's (constant) babbling and said she looks very healthy. Sage weighs 17 lbs 2 oz (19% overall) is 28.25" long (71% overall) and her head circumference is 17.25" (42% overall). Even though she is very petite in weight, this is ok as she has always been on the smaller size. Her iron is checked at this appointment and her level is good at 12.6. Dr. Yee did agree we can increase her portion sizes but just by 1 oz or so. Sage is now eating Stage 3 baby foods...they are chunkier than Stages 1 & 2. She still seems a little wary and unsure of the chewing these foods require so mealtime is even slower than usual. We are also introducing table or real solid foods starting with grapes, bananas, cottage cheese and small pieces of chicken (by daddy). I also plan on getting her some tofu and avocados. We tried cucumbers but she did not like them the 1st go around.
