The Smith Family: Sage's 1st Birthday ~ February 24, 2010!

On Wednesday, February 24, 2010 Sage turned 1 yr old!!! WOW....the year has flown by and we cannot believe she is now a "toddler" (even though she is not toddling, yet). On her special day, Landon was out of town, but he left behind special cards for Sage and me. We really missed him on this day but got to talk to him by phone and send him pictures of his birthday girl.

The day started off with blueberry waffles and watermelon. Also..Sage was on local TV (Fox 13's Good Day Tampa Bay). They have a segment where they announce 1st birthdays so I sent in Sage's photo and information. She was on about 7:45'ish and after they aired, Grandmama called very excited to see Sage on TV!

To celebrate Sage's big day, we planned a lunch outing with Grandmama & Bisabuela to a tea room in St. Pete. When we arrived at the tea room, they did not have a highchair (!) so we improvised and I attached Sage's shopping cart cover to a chair and strapped in Sage. She was very good natured about this, ate her lunch and sat for the entire lunch in her chair. After lunch, we took pictures at the tea room and then headed to Bisabuela's for strawberries & ice cream!

Grandmama came home with us and babysat Sage so I could go to the gym. Before Grandmama left, we sang another round of "Happy Birthday" to Sage and had some cupcakes. It's been a FAST and amazing year and even though we are sad to lose our little baby, we are so excited for what is in store!
