The Exersaucer! (June 28, 2009)
On Sunday, June 28 Landon assembled the "Time for Tea 1-2-3" exersaucer and Sage tried it out. This was a shower gift from our great Michigan friends, Kelly, Rick & family. She might be a bit too small as she looked like she was kind of flying in the seat. She loved the book, musical tea pot, bouncy flowers and mirror. She was able to spin around just a little bit. We can tell that as she grows, this will be one of her favorite things!

Sage's first beach outing! (June 27, 2009)
On Saturday, June 27 we decided to take Sage on her first beach outing to Honeymoon Island in Dunedin. We took a picnic dinner and arrived around 7:30 pm so we could avoid the hot sun. Since we are heading to St. George Island in August for vacation, we'd thought we should see how Sage likes the beach. Well...she seemed to LOVE the beach, water and especially the seagulls (guess we'll be one of THOSE families who feed the seagulls to amuse their kids!). We usually try to collect sand, shells or other mementos from our beach trips and we decided to collect Sage's first shells and rocks. The pickings were slim but we found a nice abalone shell and some beach rocks. After we left the beach, we stopped by Grandaddy & Grandmama's for a short visit.

Sage turns 4 months old! (June 24, 2009)
Today, our little sweetie turns 4 months old! She had her 4 mos checkup and weighs 12 lbs 6 ozs is 24 1/4" long and head circumference is 16 1/4". Her pediatrician said she looks "beautiful" and her progress is right on track. We will return for her 6 mos(!) checkup on August 24, 2009. She was in a very happy mood for her 4 mos photo shoot so please bear with all the following pics...it was too hard to choose the best ones!

Sage is shakin' it up! (June 23, 2009)
Sage has a new frog & ladybug rattle that she just loves so much. What is really cool is with her newly acquired motor skills, she is now firmly holding the rattle and taking time to examine and check it out. She used to just grasp something and quickly drop it. Last night (June 23), she held the rattle for a long time and started shaking it. This is the first time she has really done this so thought we'd document it.

Trip to Bis Abuela's (June 23, 2009)
On Tuesday, June 23 we made another trip to Bis Abuela's so Sage could meet her 3rd cousin...Tyler. Sage seemed to really like Tyler and he made her smile by counting on and moving his fingers - it was very cute! Sage kept staring at Tyler and liked it when he held her. Sage also met a long time family friend, Gwen, who happened to be in town and came over for lunch. As usual, Sage showed off her rolling skills and even showed off in her Bumbo seat. What a fun day!

Chuck E Cheese! (June 22, 2009)
So..for this week's outing with Kristen and Mari, we headed to Chuck E Cheese. Kristen's 10 yr old daughter, Madi, is on summer break and it was a great place for her to go. This is my first trip to CEC and it was a lot of fun! They even have a pretty good salad bar. Sage seemed to enjoy all the sounds, sights, colors and activity. She even grinned at the somewhat scary looking Chuck E Cheese mouse that roams the place frightening small children. Thank goodness we went on a Monday morning as I can see that this is not a place to venture on the weekends. I am sure we will be invited to many parties here so glad I was able to check it out.
Madi is a very sweet girl and took Sage on some "rides" (they really just move slowly back & forth) and she appeared to really enjoy herself. I could not pass up documenting her first trip to this kid's wonderland.

Happy 1st Father's Day! (June 21, 2009)
Landon's first Father's Day was a wonderful day with his sweet girl. It started on Friday when he received cards in the mail from Bis Abuela, Aunt Irene & Uncle Michael and even one from Sage (via Bis Abuela).
On Father's Day, Landon slept in and we fixed him breakfast. Sage put on her special Father's Day outfit - pink shirt and cuffed jeans with "Daddy's Girl" on both. Landon loved all his gifts including the Kindle (an electronic reading device similar to an iPod where you can download books, magazines, newspapers, etc), his first "World's Greatest Dad" t-shirt (very fitting as it's also a Rays' shirt), "Dad & Me" picture frame, "New Dad" WillowTree figure and Curious George book to read to Sage.
Landon just wanted to spend time with Sage so together they hung out in the hammock, watched the US Open, took a few naps, we took a family walk and just had a great day. In the evening, we grilled out/cooked a Buffalo steak (!), black bean burger, corn and sugar snap peas. We also celebrated the day with a bottle of wine from our honeymoon in Italy. It was the best first Father's Day and one Landon will forever remember & cherish!
